Progressive Mississippi PAC is founded on the belief that Mississippi can and should be a leader in progressive reform. Our mission is to identify, train, and support candidates who are committed to policies that benefit all Mississippians, ensuring that every community has a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. PMPAC will also work alongside current leaders and activists dedicated to advancing progressive initiatives across the state.
Key Objectives
· Candidate Recruitment and Support: PMPAC will focus on identifying promising progressive candidates for city, county, and state offices, providing them with the resources, training, and support necessary to run effective and impactful campaigns.
· Advocacy and Policy Development: The PAC will work to develop and promote progressive policies that address critical issues such as healthcare access, education reform, economic justice, and environmental protection.
· Community Engagement: PMPAC will engage with communities across Mississippi to understand their needs and ensure that our candidates and policies reflect the diverse voices and perspectives of the state's residents.

Our Mission and Scope
Our mission is to encourage and support Mississippi candidates for city, county, and state offices, and community leaders who bring people together to work toward the ideals put forth in the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (women)are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
We believe that our Constitutional Rights are being challenged daily and are in extreme danger of being eliminated.
The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
The text of the 1786 Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom gives great insight into our nation’s First Amendment right. It reads: “… no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced … in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinion in matters of religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities.”
The scope of our activities shall include, but not necessarily be limited to encouraging the design and implementation of policies at the city, county, and state level in the State of Mississippi that promote social justice, equality, equity, environmental sustainability, and general availability of healthcare and healthcare facilities. The scope of activities shall also include efforts to protect and strengthen public education, to guarantee the right to unionize and collectively bargain, to advocate for expansion of voter inclusion, to promote diverse and inclusive representation, and to end discrimination.
As a political action committee, we may support candidates for local and state public offices who are advocates for the ideals, issues, and goals expressed above and may oppose those who are not.
